A Father's View 

  With the writing of this section I call Perspective, a Father's view, I will try to provide in writing, my thoughts, fears, emotions, trials and tribulations that have occurred since the day of the accident to my son Jerry.

  Although at the time of the first writing, Perspective I, little did I think that this "diary," about what has transpired since my life and the life of all of my family was so drastically changed by the accident, would also include my son's death.

  The six and half years that this writing covers has produced emotions in me that I never knew existed or for that matter, knowing now, would have ever wanted to experience. The accident, although devastating to say the least, was absolutely nothing compared to the loss of a child. I may never learn to "cope" with this loss and hope and pray that no one who reads these thoughts will ever experience the loss of a child.

  Please understand as you read part one (Perspective I), the first three years of the accident; part two (Perspective II), the last half of my son's life after the accident; these thoughts are from the heart, raw emotion, feelings exposed just as I recall at the time. As more time passes, I may recall more and if so, they will be added as well. Why? My family is very open in this regard, we loved Jerry very much, miss him terribly and want to share our emotions with those of you who loved him also.

  Thousands of people were touched by Jerry and I could not be more proud than I am of Jerry and what he did under such adverse circumstances. The whole purpose of his website is to provide information about this devastating injury, therefore, emotional as well as factual is given. Anything that may provide one answer to one question is the purpose of Jerry's site. I will honor his memory by the continued presence of the Jerry Haney website.
